We were proud to have supported another new client with their ‘1st ever Mandarin Masquerade Charity Ball’ in Rochdale. Despite only 82 guests being able to commit on the night we helped them surpass their expected target. The Ball raised over £2,500 and guests enjoyed a thoroughly entertaining night out! The Mayors of Rochdale & Whitworth were present.
The ticket sales covered the location, food and entertainment costs. This left the ‘on the night’ fundraising elements to be crucial and beneficial to the cause. The chosen charity was to be the MSA Trust who care for people affected with ‘Multiple System Atrophy’. MSA is a rare neurological disease affecting thousands of men and women across the UK. Unlike Multiple Sclerosis MSA is rarely known amongst the general public. So the purpose of this ball was not only to raise funds to research a cure, but also to help raise awareness of the charity and this growing disease.

Mandarin Masquerade Ball
As the charity’s branded colours included orange, we decided to keep with this theme by creating a ‘Mandarin Masquerade Ball’. Guests attending the event were invited to wear an item of orange clothing. For example an orange bow tie for the men or an orange dress or accessory for the ladies. We also had some ‘mandarin pimped’ masks available to wear on the night in return for a donation.
We supported the event by providing one of our excellent team of photographers to capture the occasion and take formal photos of guests throughout the evening. Prints of the photographs were available on the night. We also provided our ‘Charity Compere & Disco Package’. This included Pete Pinnington acting as host, auctioneer and DJ for the evening. This helps to keep the spending as low as possible and have one key person facilitating and entertaining from start to finish.
The evening consisted of many fundraising elements. Alongside a raffle and live auction, guests were given the chance to win a 32” HD TV, a Tassimo Coffee Machine and a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 3.
As this was the ‘1st ever Mandarin Masquerade Ball’ we’re pleased to have helped our client set the benchmark for next year with a view to have this event spread across the UK.
Here’s what the organiser had to say:
“Inspired by my brother’s determination to raise awareness of and funds for, the Multiple System Atrophy Trust, I decided to hold the ‘First Ever Mandarin Masquerade Ball’.
My husband and I have attended numerous charity events over the years and therefore knew how we wanted things to go but never having hosted such an event, we needed someone to pull everything together and present the evening with flare.
Pete Pinnington was amazing from the moment the ball was officially opened, he engaged everyone and kept up the momentum throughout the evening which meant that we could relax and enjoy the experience. I would like this to become an annual event and will most definitely be discussing this with Pete over the coming months…
Thank you Pete! I believe with your help we managed to achieve what we set out to do and I couldn’t have chosen anyone more perfect for the task”
