SCHEDULE
The day begins at 9.45am with a 1 mile Fun Run along a traffic-free course. It will be mostly on paths in Birchwood Forest Park close to the Birchwood Shopping Centre. The Fun Run is ideal for beginners and for family members of runners in the main 10k race. So, even if you have young children, you can jog with them around the course. This is a great way to warm up gently for the 10k.
You can pre-enter the Fun Run using the Birchwood 10k Entry Form, or you can enter on the day.
Then at 10.30am the main 10K Run begins with the minimum age for runners being 15yrs! Therefore if you want to run a 10k personal best, then this is the race for you. The race attracts runners from all over north-west England. The Birchwood 10k, now in it’s 29th year, just gets better with age!
Runners World Magazine ranked this race in the top 100 UK road races . This race boasts one of the most extensive prize lists that you will find, with over £2000 given away each year in prizes!
All finishers receive the legendary 10k luxury bath towel – much more useful than a medal!
Pete Pinnington Presents will be hosting, playing music and generally entertaining runners & spectators throughout the morning at both the start & finish lines.
PLEASE NOTE
- THERE WILL BE NO ENTRY ON THE DAY FOR THE 10K RACE
- PRE-ENTRIES CLOSE ON 12TH AUG
