On Sunday 11th November 2012 it’s Remembrance Sunday. So, to mark this national campaign, we’ve recently been involved in supporting Halton Poppy Appeal Launch.
For the event we provided the staging, sound, music and also provided a host for all aspects of the occasion. We ensured that the music played was poignant to the occasion.
Pete Pinnington hosted and facilitated the launch which included encouraging shoppers to donate and receive a poppy. Pete also interviewed three injured soldiers from the 1st and 4th Mercian Regiment. There was a performance and poem from the children of St Mary’s Primary School, Runcorn who also handed their personally crafted poppy’s for the soldiers to pin on the ‘Poppy Board’. The children created their performance specially as a class project. After the performance our client, along with The Royal British Legion, officially launched and unveiled their giant poppy for the ‘Poppy Appeal’. The poppy was one of the biggest in the UK.
Also visible to members of the public at Halton Poppy Appeal Launch were images of all the soldiers who’ve died since the fighting in Afghanistan began back in 2001.
