Rugby League World Cup In Warrington

It was The Rugby League World Cup last weekend. The sound and lighting at both events was provided by Pete Pinnington Presents. It was even hosted by our very own Pete Pinnington! So we were proud to be so heavily involved.

Warrington has successfully managed to secure ‘Host Town’ status for two of this year’s Rugby League World Cup Games:-

  1. Sun 27th Oct – New Zealand v Samoa (KO 6pm)
  2. Sun 17th Nov – Quarter Final Game ‘Runner Up B v 3rd Place A’ (KO 3pm)

In the build up to this mementos occasion, Warrington Borough Council & LiveWire Warrington are hosting a series of fantastic events for the community to enjoy. On Saturday 1st June it was Samoan Independence Day. It was fitting to mark and celebrate this first event as the Samoans shall not only be playing in Warrington on Sun 27th Oct 2013 but they’re also staying at the Village Hotel, Warrington throughout the competition.

To mark ‘Samoan Independence Day’, Warrington Borough Council & LiveWire held two separate events where the town could embrace & be a part of the celebrations:-

Sat 1st June – 11am – 3pm – Golden Square Shopping Centre, Warrington (outside Debenhams) fans met some of the Samoan’s & Warrington Wolves players and enjoyed FREE Facepainting PLUS the opportunity to have a photo with the glorious ‘RUGBY LEAGUE WORLD CUP’ Trophy

Sat 1st June – 5pm – 8pm – LiveWire held a ‘Samoan Pool Party’ at their Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub, Jubilee Hub in Warrington. Rugby Families jumped into the pool to enjoy a HUGE inflatable, volleyball & a disco pool party! PLUS have their photo taken with the glorious ‘RUGBY LEAGUE WORLD CUP’ Trophy.
