Warrington Wolves winning form continued yet again with a win over Hull FC yesterday. Credit to Hull, they hit the ground running and gained a 10-0 lead within 10 minutes. Thanks to a Ryan Atkins TRY, the Wolves managed to regain control and eventually get to 18 points by half time which was also equalised thanks to a Hull FC penalty kick.
Despite a very powerful 1st half by both sides, Hull failed to get any points in the 2nd half which left Warrington to increase to a 40-18 win! The ‘Man Of The Match’ title deservedly went to Ryan Atkins. The Wolves remain 2nd on the Super League table – 1 point behind leaders Wigan who play Widnes tonight (Mon 25th June).
Once again Pete Pinnington was hosting & interviewing players in the Corporate sponsor lounges throughout the stadium’s North Stand. During this time, Pete also informed guests of the TRY HARD programme which the club had just launched – targeting young people at risk of social exclusion and anti-social behaviour.
Yesterday’s game was also an ‘Armed Forces Day’ match.
The charity benefiting this year being ‘Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen & Families Association’ (SSAFA) which offers experienced confidential advice on a wide range of issues providing practical & emotional support for veterans of all ages and their familes.
The next home game for Warrington will be Mon 9th July when the Wolves welcome Catalan Dragons to the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
